Each project scope is unique with varied goals and restraints. The initial consultation if where it all starts.
During our first phone call, we will talk about scope, timelines, budgets, expectations and I'll give a quick overview of my process. If we agree that this project seems like a mutual fit, I will come to visit the project site. Seeing the scope in person allows me to ask more specific questions and dig deeper to understand your final goals for the design work. After the meeting, I will follow up with a written proposal for the work.
Whether you are building a new home, interested in an addition, or remodeling an existing one, we will work with you to create a space that is both functional and beautiful.
The design process starts with understanding my clients’ lives and incorporating that input into spatial solutions that work for them. Through an iterative process, I weave your client inspiration and goals together to create a unique and timeless environment for you.
The concept design will include the following deliverables:
- Architectural Plans, to scale (including structural or civil engineering, if applicable)
- Elevations and Building Sections
- Lighting Plans
- Finish and material selections
- Written specifications and details for construction
- Bids for procurement of finish materials
Timing to complete the concept design will require at least 2-3 months after measuring and documenting the space. A custom home can take upwards of 12-18 months.
As your designer, advocate, and liaison throughout the entire design-build process, I know what your end goals are and can help translate those into the final physical space. During construction, I can coordinate delivery of finishes, answer questions from the GC to ensure that the design intent is achieved. Depending on the client’s desired level of involvement, more or less time may be required.
